Rose Martinelli, associate dean of admissions and financial aid at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, will leave the position she has held for the past five years at the end of this week. She shared the news with Clear Admit yesterday morning but asked that we wait to announce it here until after she’d had a chance to post it to her own blog, the Rose Report.

Martinelli won’t be going far. Her next position will be as assistant vice president for enrollment at the University of Chicago. It’s a role that will include admissions and financial aid oversight in the college as well as across other master’s and PhD programs throughout the university. “I’m excited about this next step in my career and looking forward to the opportunities that are ahead,” she wrote on her blog.

In her stead, Kurt Ahlm of the admissions team will serve as the interim director while a search is underway to find a new associate dean, Martinelli said. “I am confident that they will continue to provide you with the same level of support and guidance that prospective students have come to expect from our office,” she wrote. And while the Rose Report blog will come to a close, there will be a new blog managed by the admissions team to keep you informed about Booth and its admissions process, she added.

Martinelli, who is herself a graduate of the Chicago Booth Executive MBA program, looks forward to remaining involved with the school as a supportive member of the alumni community. She will post one final time to the Rose Report later this week and introduce her readers to the new admissions blog, she wrote.
