25、 团队 个人
“All groups and organizations should function as teams in which everyone makes decisions and shares responsibilities and duties. Giving one person central authority and responsibility for a project or task is not an effective way to get work done.”(5)

正:
1.        Admittedly, in a team, everyone should take positive action. Sharing responsibilities and obligations could motivate the members’ creativity and initiative. For example, many companies let the employees to buy shares and stocks, such as Starbucks.
2.        Giving one person central authority and responsibility for a project ignores a crucial point that only experienced individuals should be trust with such a burden and with such power; leaving decision-making to an inexperienced person is not a wise way.
反:
however, everybody makes decisions totally no decisions. In many circumstances, the personal goal may be different from or even contrary to the goal of the group. Thus, there will be many incompatible conflicts. In order to stray from the initial goal of the team, one person with authority and responsibility is needed to assort with different interests.

27、候选者
The most experienced candidate is usually the best candidate for a leadership position

正:
1.        The most experienced candidate is usually the person who has skills, experience and seniority. He has seen too much of the business not to do better. When encountering unexpected situations, he would stay calm and deal with the problems calmly.
2.        The most experienced candidate is usually the person who has the seniority and authority. People are likely to accept as a leader only someone they admire. Thus, the team could be more united.
反:
however, the most experienced candidate might conform to conventional practices or way of thinking. But innovation, product differentiation and creativity are crucial to lasting success. Standing on the point of view, the most experienced candidate may not be the best candidate for a leadership position.

“It is difficult for people to achieve professional success without sacrificing important aspects of a fulfilling personal life.”

正:
1.        Cost of living, growing population, and increasingly scarce resource all contribute to a radical competitive society. Today’s professionals must work long hours to keep their heads above water勉强维持生活by the situation. Accordingly, it deprives many important aspects of personal life, such as time for family, hobbies and self-improvement.
2.        A good example could be found is that, particularly in developing countries, where lack of social welfare, population explosion compels people to work harder and harder and abandon their families.
反:
Having a joyful career to devote is also in turn help to ensure a fulfilling personal life. Many professionals truly love their work and would do it without compensation. For them, professional fulfillment and personal fulfillment are one and the same. For common people, we should balance both of them.

36、 成功 保守或创造
No one can possibly achieve any real and lasting success or ‘get rich’ in business by conforming to conventional practices or ways of thinking.(81)

正:
1.        In many cases, merely conforming to conventional practices or way of thinking could not keep long-lasting success. In consumer-driven industries, innovation, product differentiation, and creativity are crucial to lasting success. For example, retail stores must catch the attention of consumers whenever since the consumers pursue innovative and different products.
2.        As President Franklin Roosevelt said, “Growth and change are the law of all life”. Without innovation, business could not keep up with the development of the market.
反:
However, what I mentioned above does not mean that conventions have no value at all. A lot of business principles for financial achievement never change. For example, to make profit, pursuing efficiency and reducing cost is a golden rule. Moreover, as part of the society, company should carry some responsibility for the whole community.

38、2次 老员工,新员工
in today's high-paced world, the energy and new ideas of younger workers will benefit the employer more than the experience and wisdom of older workers do.

正:
1.        As we all know, the word today is fast-paced. Younger employees are more suitable for this everyday’s improvement and revolution. They are quite creative and innovative than older workers. The energy and new ideas could meet the need of customers. Moreover, youthful spirit of young workers improves the morale of whole team, which is crucial to a company.
2.        Although experience and wisdom older employees are important, they might be conservative and not likely to change their own styles to fit the goal of company. Management of older workers is much more difficult than management of younger workers.
反:
Different occupations have different criteria. For example, the older the doctor is, the more perfect his skills are. Younger doctors lack experience and wisdom. When faced with tough problems, older workers would play pivotal roles in helping company solve the problems.

39、环境 规则
“Scientists are continually redefining the standards for what is beneficial or harmful to the environment. Since these standards keep shifting, companies should resist changing their products and processes in response to each new recommendation until those recommendations become government regulations.”(42)

正:
1.        The recommendations given by scientists are usually controversial or have inconsistent perspectives on same questions, thus cannot provide clear directions on actions that companies should adopt.
2.        Changing products and processes too often will inevitably increase cost and lower productivity. Also, it is quite hard for the company to follow the standards which keep shifting all the time. Therefore, the profits of company will be decrease, while the condition of environment may not improve.
反:
However, just waiting for government regulations may draw back the processes of solving the problems. A great deal of environmental damage can occur before regulations are implemented.
总:A middle ground should be given. For example, government should make those recommendations from scientists to be regulations once a fewer years, such as every 5 years.

40、体育运动
Physical activity and sports are as important as education of academics

正:
1. Children and teens need 60 minutes of activity a day for their health. Because children spend most of their time in school, physical activity encouraged in schools is important. Physical activity and sports provide children with an opportunity to exercise during the day. It gives children early exposure to team sports, and promotes good physical fitness. Children who participate in physical education can learn the importance of exercise as a lifelong habit.
2. Children who take physical activity and sports may be interested in joining a team work as well. Sports increase the awareness of health and the need to take care of the body. Sports also give kids a positive outlet for frustrations and energy, a place to make friends who are positive influences, and a place to be a leader so kids are less likely to succumb 屈服 to peer pressure.
反:
It is almost impossible for people who just have a strong and healthy body to get highly successful achievements. In other words, education of academic is a fundamental one which leads to people’s success.

41、 保护环境 责任
“Responsibility for preserving the natural environment ultimately belongs to each individual person, not to government.”(13)

正:
1.        Admittedly, we share the nature source, which is our human being’s irreplaceable treasure. The condition of the environment may have directly effect on each person. Therefore, everyone has the obligation to protect the environment from being polluted.
反:
1.        Experience tells us that individuals tend to act on behalf of their own short-term economic and political interest. To leave all the responsibility to individuals is hardly a wise decision. Without government’s regulation, few people will voluntarily make sacrifice to protect the environment.
2.        Under many circumstance, the government has certain advantages in preserving the environment. For example, the government can place certain regulations on the wastes and pollutants towards environment emitted by industries.
总:
As far as I am concerned, the responsibility for preserving the natural environment ultimately belongs to each individual person, government and some other society organizations, not a simple one.
