我知道这道题要考时态，可是这里应该用什么时态呢？？还有划线句的最后那个with是哪个搭配啊，晕！

yield用现在完成时与一般现在时都说得通，但是含义不一样，用have yield说明了the first trenches是过去发现的，至今仍能提供证据，而yield的话则是说明是现在发现的，所以用have yield更合理

but also单独用。。错。。。应该是not only ..but also。。排除BD。。

分词比定从更简洁。。。cut 比that were cut要好。。。排除A。。。

谢谢~~那with的搭配是arise with吗？这是什么意思呢？

with 是介词，是用来连接B的。也就是说： A arises simultaneously with B, but A arises independently of B．

如果没有with和of的话，那句子就没法连接B了~

请教下各位NN the first +复数名词 后面的谓语动词 是复数 也就是说不用管the first吗???
