Hi all - I'm applying for R1 US MBA and have a quick question about recommendation letters.
Is it acceptable for recommenders to write one general letter touching upon all the specific questions that each school asks in their recs (while customizing it to some degree for each school)? Or is it much more preferable to have recommenders answer each school's questions in the order and form in which it is asked on the rec form?
Having your recommender fill out a general form letter indicates to the school that you do not specifically care about the program. It is akin to writing a generic why MBA essay, rather than making this essay specific.
So, in my opinion, the better treatment is to have your recommender answer each question.
