B的第一个分句的结构不平行：So dogged were ... and ... was persistent，要么不用，要么都用倒装。

C把her lobbying for wage and hour reform用前后逗号分隔，变成了可有可无的插入语，似乎改变了原句意思。

E虽然拗口但是没有以上这些比较明显的毛病，我比较倾向E。

我觉得像B。 虽然平行有些拗口，但是 so that 的连接要比that 连接好。E看上去好像将后面的主句变成了从句，改变了句子原意。
