You won't go wrong with Ivey and Rotman if you plan to stay in Toronto after graduation.
My friends from Ivey told me that Ivey used exactly the same cases as HBS. Basically, you will be learning exactly what the HBS students are learning.
I personally recommend Ivey.
1) Ivey is the second largest publisher for business school cases behind HBS.
2) Ivey is the oldest non-US B-School. Rotman is too young.
3) Ivey offers only a one-year program. Rotman's is two-year. In Canada, internships may not matter that much.
4) Look at the resumes of executives in Bay Street. Most of them are from Ivey if they have an MBA. This may echo 2) because Rotman is too young.
However, Rotman is pretty good in finance and its location is right next to the Toronto downtown core, so if you wanna work in finance, Rotman is not worse than Ivey. In my opinion, Rotman is not worse than Ivey only in the finance industry.
Other than these two, you can consider Queens and York too. They are pretty good too, just not as good as the previous two. |
