Sorry to post the news here a little bit late. So busy these days~
Finally I got the offer from HBS and ended my long journey of application with an exhilarating result. I can still vividly remember the days when I was painfully preparing for GMAT, when I racked my brains for the essay storylines and when I was anxciously waiting for the result.
Background BBA from a top university in SH; 2 years at a consulting firm; G 730, T 663
Interview for HBS Unlike most applicants who received interview invitation, I was interviewed by an alumnus rather than the ad com officers.
Interviewer: alumnus and broad member of HBS, graduated in 1990(so senior!!!)
Time: one hour(so long and I suffered a lot!)
Question: 1. self-introduction 2. some questions about my extracurricular activities and hobbies written on resume 3. career goal: what is it, why, how do you plan to do it(how to raise capital, how to make money, etc.) He spent so much time on digging into my career goal 4. any decision you regret in your life(the most difficult question I have ever come across) 5. an example of setback/failure other than what is mentioned in the essay 6. an example of how you develop others 7. questions for him I personally don't think I did a perfect job with the interview, esp. I found it so difficult to answer Question 4 and 5 just as I was so painful with the essay of "mistake". Maybe it is because I do not have so many experiences. I was once so desperate that I thought I definitely would not be admitted by HBS. However, what came in the end is good news. Lucky me!
Good luck to all the applicants! Hold on and all of your efforts will pay off!
