17， Twleve jurors must be picked from a pool of n potential juror. In m of the potential jurors are rejected by the defense counsel and the prosecuting attorney, how many different possible juries could be picked from the remaining potnetial  jurors?
(1) If one less potential juror had been rejected, it would be possible to create 13 different juries.
(2)n=m+12

16,If x and y are non-zero integers, what is the remainder when x is divided by y?
(1) When x is divided by 2y, the remainder is 4
(2) When x+y is divided by y, the remainder is 4

补充16题：
条件1）Y肯定大于2的。Y=3，X=10；Y=4，X=12的时候，条件都成立。但得出的余数是不一样的，所以条件1）不充分。

17、条件1）它的关键在于读懂题目=》if had been rejected=》n=m+（13-1）
If one less potential juror had been rejected, it would be possible to create 13 different juries 这句话是个假设=》如果！但没有发生。
其中的one less 是减少的意思。整句话的意思是：
若少减掉一个人的话，就有13个人了。

16、(x+y)/y = A 余4=》x=y（a-1）余4 +》x/y 余4
换成简单的：3/2 =1 余1，3=2*1余1；（3+2）/2 =2余1，3=2（2-1）余1

对不起,16题的(2)是X+Y被Y除,余4

试数，是我目前唯一的方法，好象太笨,因为做一题整除,余数题要花3-4分钟,如果两题,就要6-8分钟,有点不值得.不知有什么好方法?

请讲讲这两题的思路,好吗?谢谢!

1）我一般也爱带数，就会发现两个remainder不一样。其实也可以推，就看你自己的做题方法。

     一般的余数题 我都直接代数子..

1)　此条件利用了只有分子分母相同的情况下，分子分母同时加上一个数，分数值不变，所以原先的概率为百分之一百

2)  根据原题，可以得出12/(n－m),把条件(2)n=m+12代入即可得到结果

16　我认为应该是E吧，如果x+y is divided by 4, the remainder is 4那么x+y是可以被4整除之数，那么X　Y二值就不确定，所以x is divided by y的remainder也就不确定了，不知是否同意？
