注意各个学校招收学生的教育背景不同，GPA高低也不一样，一般来说文科的要比理科的高些。

I wish I know. but the fact is that they look at you as a full package. you can always make up some ground by doing some extrodinary work in other areas. but in general, if you have a below 3.0 GPA, your chance does not look good in most top20 schools.
