答案是A,但是我总觉得，如果用A，句末应该加一个did，和前面的flourished并列。

请问如果不加did的话，句子的结构该如何解释呢？

我认为是由于that的存在，如果后面仍然加了动词，就会认为后面的成分都属于that引导从句的一部分，实际上that引导的定语从句只有到flourished为止，两相比较的仍然是文明和文明
