乍一看这道题就没什么思路，分析了十多分钟还选了B。。。不是说同样的代词在句子中不能指代不同对象吗，E选项里them和they明显指代对象就不一样啊。。。难道主格宾格算不同代词么。。。而且E选项里那么多代词，不是有指代不明之嫌吗。。。实在水平有限搞不明白这个题到底什么思路，还请大神们指教，谢谢了。。。

我倒觉得E的指代是对的，they和them都指代signs。
B中ones和one不对吧，one 指代a course of action,后面的ones逻辑上应该指代signs，实际却指代之前one指代的对象的复数……而且B本质上意思变了，扭曲重心了说。好吧，我觉得逻辑意思的改变，是B的根本问题。
而且sb makes sth likely when sth do appear的表达好奇怪。

    E中的they和them都是指代的signs。
    E用了an executive避免了像D中的them指代不清楚。
    E把an executive放在后面，还避免了像B的especially one指代不清楚。
