Some [professors] were great in research as well as great teachers. Others (smaller portion) were great researchers but average teachers and you had to work to get information from them because they had a hard time bringing the information down to the level that a student would understand. A large portion of the professors embraced student opinion, and incorporated it well into the lectures.

Greater leveraging of online resources would have been useful (particularly) for part-time students. Video capture, podcasts, and other such features to assist in reviewing course material would have been beneficial.

The Davis program was a rigorous and fulfilling. It offers flexibility (at times) and provides some flexibility in choosing classes/schedules.

There were a lot of quality teachers that were passionate about what they were teaching. They were concerned that you understood the concepts and did not just regurgitate the information.

Pursuing an MBA has broadened my knowledge and [offered] unlimited oppurtunities. I believe that the UC Davis' program is tailor made to the trends of today's business world. Moreover, the class sizes are small and are very interactive. Further, the timing of the part-time program [courses] is very convenient.

UC Davis is an excellent school, and it is family friendly from a scheduling standpoint. You can choose to take classes every other weekend, while other programs make you attend every weekend.

Clearly, our professors actually enjoyed teaching working professionals, and these were the actual professors, not just the adjuncts. Communicating with them was simple and easy. They always made themselves available. Interestingly, they often seemed to learn as much from our experiences as we did from theirs. Sometimes, the instructors were not fantastic. That goes with any school, and unfortunately, it happened here as well.

The UC Davis MBA instructors are up to date on industry and buisness trends. One weakness would be the amount of material they try to contain in one course.

The program provided a great learning experience. The professors were specialists in the topics they taught, which included a mix of theory and actual real-world experience. Both the core classes and electives were highly relevant to today's business environment. In addition, since the program's reputation continues to grow, a great number of professionals from multiple fields have enrolled to learn and share experiences that in a collective manner enhance the learning experience.

TOP

The program at Davis was an amazing experience. The quality of my classmates was top-notch and the professors are leaders in their fields. The course content is dynamic and not watered down because the part-time students have the same content and professors as the full-time program. Also, the Davis MBA program is smaller than many business schools and you get to know everyone on a first-name basis. If you are looking to be challenged and have cutting-edge course content, then Davis is for you. If you need a "check-the-box" MBA, you may want to go to a different program.

I liked the combination of instructors with practical work and academic experience. [The school] provided a great practical application into the business world. The downside was that not all instructors at the main campus were willing to travel to the satellite campus.
