个人感觉the ones虽然不比those感觉妥当， 但是A里的differ from不idiomatic吧。。。用这个把A去掉也就不需要担心the ones了。。。要是有those如果只要context对。。我一般会选those over the ones吧。。。。

而楼上说的the ones 指带traditions in viking-age scandinavia。。。就跟版主说的一样，，还真是很少见有用the ones指带这个的。。一般都是实物。。。for ex.
This watch is more accurate than the ones I had before.  (the ones指带手表。。。实物。。。）

首先prep的解释实际上并不是官方解答
所以存在着错误的可能，总的来说，有一两处不那么恰当的完全可以理解
说ones不能指代抽象名词实际上是不对的，只能说ones通常不指代抽象名词
B选项的错误在于between A and B 而不能是 between A from B
