两个都是好项目，cong！我觉得eth的项目和北美tier 1差不多，师资很好

如果是academic (for PhD), ETH 1000% hands down.

如果打算work in HK, HKUST should be the choice; ETH is quite unknown in else of world except EU in non-academic, for APAC, i doubt HKSUT is even better due to her business school (hard core quant 當然例外)
P.S. 個人估計international bank在HK的quant team一定知ETH的大名, 問題是: how much do they want someone without working experience and sposure his/her visa...that's the problem

Swiss學費是便宜, 但是算進生活費估計並不會比HKUST便宜, 尤其ETH&UZH QFin是18個月.
Chinese National without working experience 要留在swiss for working visa的難度很高.

純以program design, 個人認為兩個program都很不錯.
HKUST program係derivatives pricing方向更齊, 比其stat方面更好.
ETH就選擇更闊, 更多mathematical(=better). 如果擔心自己的mathematics跟不上就先行自修吧...
