City Life
MIT students often enjoy exploring greater Boston, which is less than five miles away and within easy reach by public transportation. From internationally renowned arts organizations to small experimental groups, Boston offers the students attending more than 50 colleges and universities in the area a chance to explore music, dance, art, and sports. They can take in a Red Sox game, hear the latest offerings at Symphony Hall, or take a jog along the scenic Charles River.

Work Hard, Play Hard
"I was constantly impressed with the caliber of the student body," says a student in a survey conducted by Bloomberg Businessweek, "and with the number of opportunities available to students professionally and socially."

Those opportunities include more than 500 clubs and organizations that are on campus and open to graduate students. Club topics range from the Systems Thinking Society to the Mocha Movers Dance Squad. MIT, with 33 varsity sports, also sponsors the largest NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletic program in the country.

Part of Sloan’s mission statement is to "enroll students with integrity, strong leadership potential, high aspirations, and exceptional intellectual ability." That means accepting about 350 students every fall (bringing the total enrollment to around 700) with an average of five years of work experience and an average GMAT score of more than 700. About 14 percent of applicants are accepted into the two-year program. Total cost: just under $50,000 annually for both residents and nonresidents.
