The Farmer School offers a "Professional Practice" workshop that allows students to earn one credit hour of academic credit for a summer internship. Students must find a sponsoring faculty member prior to the internship, and then write a reflective paper on the business principles they applied on the internship as well as the new principles they learned while on the internship.

Study abroad program description:
The Farmer School continues to sustain a rich legacy of study abroad offerings through its semester, summer and winter break programs with the focus on Asia and Europe. Studying abroad is a part of our culture with over half the seniors reported having participated in a program. Most students can spend a semester abroad and still graduate in four years. Many need-based scholarships are available to support study abroad.

Adopt-a-school program to tutor at-risk children. Alpha Kappa Psi organized a basketball tournament fundraiser to support an elementary school library. Annual student managed Golf-Fore-a-Cure tournament raises thousands of dollars each year to fight cancer. MU Community Program promotes student, faculty and staff engagement in the local community, a primary event being the holiday drive to provide clothes, supplies and gifts for area families.
