Answer: I did start leaning towards marketing in my previous firm ... and the need to learn Business formally arose.. An MBA helps me understand the Business Administration as whole with some specialization in Marketing but giving me a well rounded approach

Answer: International students CANNOT work off-campus anywhere in the United States. The only time you can work off-campus is if it is for an internship which has to be approved by the university.

Answer: what is your question again on the difference between enrollment form and and enrollment term?

Q48: Kanti, the form provides an option for us to choose: to enroll in 2009 or to enroll in 2010. Is there any difference between the two options?

Answer: Haojie, if you would like to start your MSF program in the Fall, please choose FALL 2009. However, if you plan on deferring your admission till Fall 2010, you have that option too. Then you would choose Fall 2010

Q54: Can you tell me because of the financial crisis how is our chance to find a job in Finance field please?

Answer: There is nothing here in investment banking right now, and this has never been a big area of placement for our students.  Typically graduates go to work as financial analysts in industry.  Financial service is not a viable option now and has restrictions on hiring international candidates. 

 

Q55: Dear Amanda, could you tell me the demand of mathematics for MSF?

Answer: the MSF program is a highly quantitative program. You're expected to be skilled in this area, and the pre-reqs included statistics

Answer: some of the summer internships are paid some not ... really depends on how you are able to negotiate with them ... and the company profile- due to the current economic slowdown - many firms have reduced budgets for Interns

Answer: Swilson ... I stay off campus with my family ...around 15 miles from here

Answer from Kanti: Swilson, you can either choose to live on campus or off-campus. On-Campus housing information is available at http://www.clarku.edu/offices/housing/options/graduate.cfm. Most graduate students however live off-campus. Some information on off-campus housing is available at http://www.clarku.edu/offices/housing/options/offcampus.cfm. I live off-campus and rent can range from anything between 300 and 700

Answer: Yes it is cheaper to live off-campus.

Q28: What about the convenience?

Answer: SWILSON, if you as wondering if it is convenient to live on-campus versus off-campus, if you were to live on-campus, you do not need to worry about home maintenance, electricity, repairs etc. However, I live off-campus and I don't think it is inconvenient. I live very close to school (1 min walk from GSOM). SO it is not inconvenient

Answer: Swilson, students usually live in apartments which can range from 1 bedroom to 4 or 5 bedrooms.

Q28: Like live alone, or with one guy, or with many people?

Answer: You usually live with other Clark students.

Answer: You can choose to live alone or with other people. It becomes less expensive if you are living with other people and sharing expenses.

Answer: SWILSON, everyone I know has found a place to live. You do have to spend some time searching; but you should be able to find something.

OTHER ANSWER:

1. Also regarding housing:  Please know that when you first arrive, we help you find someone to stay with right away (actually before you arrive!) so that you are comfortable while you are looking for an apartment off-campus, if that is what you decide to do.

2. Another housing tip:  It is always best to see the apartment in person yourself (not while you are still at home) before you make your decision.  And YES it is rather easy to find off campus housing. 

3. Regarding HOUSING:  It is rather easy to find off-campus housing, but we have much on-campus housing, and for the most part, if it more convenient.  If you want to more about it, you can always email the Student Services Office.

Answer: Not really ... you will need to arrange for your own housing if you are opting for off-campus one

    Answer: Worcester is the second largest city in Mass after Boston and is just an hr away from it .. Well it's proximity to Boston and New York makes it a good place to be in and is well connected to both places

Answer: We have many internship employers who come to Clark for students each year and we do as much recruiting for internships as we can.  In the end, the student finds their own internship whether from the group we find, or on their own. 

Q36: Thanks, Lisa. Is there any possible that students can not find the internship, especially under current economic situation? What if one would fail to find one, will they fail to graduate?

Answer: All students are able to fulfill the internship requirement.  If they don't do an internship, we have another project they complete.

Answer: About me - I am in the MBA program and have 5+ work ex as an engineer. I will graduate in May 2010

Answer: We have on campus and off campus housing available...on campus is for the whole academic year.

Off campus is dependent on what you set up with you landlord (in regards to length od time living there)
