1，同意，it 改称them; carbon-are可能是印刷错误

2，最好要of, 原句的意思是“有毒植物中的最危险的种类”，如果去掉of，意思变成了“最危险的有毒植物”，意思发生一些微妙的变化。

3，这里的were只能解释成虚拟了。一般会和if 连用
