UNC 全称 THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH COROLINA, 在美国属于顶级公立大学. 学校所在地CHAPEL HILL 在美国是少见的安全而很有乐趣的大学城.FRANKLIN STREET 有数不清的酒吧和精致的小店. 据说因为CHAPEL HILL 的中小学教育很好, 很多富人居住在此, 故周围犯罪率比较低. 汽车保险是全美最低的5 个城市之一.
UNC 是个很不错的学校, MBA PROGRAM 的就业形势也不错. 二年纪有夏季INTERNSHIP 的学生比例是96%. 投行LEHMAN BROTHERS 今年夏季招了10 多个学生做INTERN, 现已经发了至少10 FULL TIME OFFER, 其它的J.P. MORGAN CHASE 发了4 个, BOA 2, MORGAN STANDLY 约3-4, WACHOVIA 约 10 FULL TIME OFFER. (其它投行没统计, 我个人也只了解FINANCE). 因为UNC MBA PROGRAM 很小, 每年约280 人, 选FINANCE 的人和对真正对投行感兴趣的比例并不大, 每年约65-70人选FINANCE 专业, 所以相对来说, 这些录取比例还是不错的.
专业及优势, UNC 各专业比较平衡. FINANCE 和MARKETING 是学生选得最多的CONCENTRATION, REAL ESTATE 人气越来越旺. SUPPLY CHAIN, OPERATION 虽然SIZE 很小, 实力不俗.
UNC 因为PROGRAM 很小, 学生之间关系比较密切; 同时, 因为是南方学校, 学生都很友好, 自然校友忠诚度也很高. 申请的时候学校也很看中你是不是真心想读UNC. 在校生从一开始进学校就感觉BEING LOVED, 个人以为这是MBA 非常稀罕的资源.
UNC 排名呈上升趋势, 今年WALL STREET JOURNAL 上UNC 排名10. 学校新DEAN 努力争取各方面资源, 不管是FACULTY 还是在校学生, 对学校都有很强的COMMITMENT.
今天UNC 约有11个大陆学生, 因为UNC 课程量相对比较重(对真心想学点实在东西的学生是件好事), 学校安排找工作也得步步紧跟, 所以一年级非常忙. UNC 有一个针对中国学生的 网页 和YAHOO GROUP, 大家在MBA 申请网站上可以看到. 有任何疑问可以发信给在校的中国学生.

UNC电话面试问题及MBA申请的想法。
今天完成了UNC的电话面试了。感觉很好，应该差不多吧。这个学校如果你赶上他的early round，10月28号截至，12月12号肯定出结果。这是一个最大的好处。坐在那里等结果是最痛苦的事情了。早有结果早点可以规划一下下一步的事情。譬如去www.vsocan.org找个加勒比海附近的小国作个志愿者，学点西班牙语，省点在加拿大的生活费和房租，好极了。


面试的建议，其实也就是整个MBA申请的建议。最重要的就是一定要明白自己为什么读MBA，读完打算干吗。一定要真实地想法。这样不仅会帮助你完成最困难的essay，也会让你很容易的准备面试。事情只要符合逻辑，成功地可能性是最大的。

今天的面试我很放松，我英语不差，我知道我要MBA的目的，毕业后我有目标，继续自己开公司。和北卡面试的人员聊得非常好。不可能出现不好的情况。任何事情你准备好以后，都会相对简单。

如果没有考虑好为什么读MBA，其他方面的准备都不能帮助你。英语不好可以慢慢说，为什么读MBA是最重要的。

在北美基本上除了加拿大的商学院， 美国几乎所有的商学院都没有最低GPA要求。如果GPA低，考虑自己是否合适申请的方法很简单。综合考虑一下自己的：

MBA录取就是差异化竞争，去发现自己独特的经历，价值和优势。如果有足够多的其他优势，GPA低也没有关系。譬如你登上过20座山峰，那么很有可能学校会放弃一个GPA3.5的人，如果其他方面你们2个都一样。因为GPA3.5的人太多了。


物以稀为贵。

昨晚做了UNC的电话面试.打来电话的是位二年级师哥,非常之nice. 感觉更多像是一次聊天.以下是实录:

总算把申请全结束了，能不能有学校要我，就看天意吧，我尽力了！从一月的那天到现在，心里没放松过一天。
UNC我是Adcom面试，face to face在北京，一共面了30余分钟，发问方式犹如一台机器。问题如下

4 what is the role i paly in the team when i was a leader
5 what environment i like to work in
6 what will i repsonse when i was in the emergency
7 why UNC should choose me over other chinese applicants?

电话面试!!!!真是气炸了, UNC Kenan-Flagler
绝对不是我的真实英语水平，电话面试简直TMD杀人不见血．
持续了３５分钟．问题不难，语速平缓，本人语言水平，听力完全没有问题，口语也还可以，怎么一回答问题，特别是这些面试的问题，就这么不济，虽有准备，可是还是不能应答如流，反倒词不达意，很容易回答的问题，结果顾左右而言他，不能给出好的回答．
气炸了．看来不准备，不模拟，不背熟了是浪费申请费．大意了．
和face to face 差的太远了．

UNC Kenan-Flagler Phone Interview
是圣诞节前面的，这两天比较忙，所以现在贴出来：

面试大概持续了35分钟，他一开始说是大概25分钟左右，电话的效果很好，没有任何声音延迟。
面试官是81年的MBA，是个退伍的Veteran, 人很Nice，声音很具有鼓舞性。面试以后一段时间后收到一封调查问卷。
