Recently there is a debate over whether we can learn more about the society by observing how its peoples spend their leisure time than by observing them at work. Different people hold different views from their distinct backgrounds. Some people claim that observing how its peoples spend their leisure time will help up understand the society, while other people assert that it is the more effective way to observe the work environment . As a matter of fact , the issue whether observing how people spend their leisure time will contribute to understand the society is a complex and controversial one, thus, actually the final judgment should rely on a case-by-case analysis. As far as I am concerned , I believe that we can learn more about the society by observing how its peoples spend their leisure time. My view can be greatly confirmed by the following discussion.
In the first place, the important reason that can be presented to develop my position is that how people spend their leisure time will reveal the culture of the society. To illustrate this point, let us see an example. Most of he citizens in Dalian City prefer to watching football game. When they are free , they often go to sports center to watch football game. In addition, when the important international football games or domestic football games held, they often gather at the TV and watch football games. Besides, there are many football superstars in Dalian. It is obvious that how the citizens of Dalian spend their leisure time reflects their social culture, that is their love for sports and their love for football.
In addition, there is another reason for me to choose this statement is that the performance at leisure time will reflect their social value. To illustrate this point, there is an example. In Fuzhou City, many adults would spend more time to accompany their children when they are free. They will accompany their children to go to the museums, the zoos, and sports center. In this way, we can predict their children will grow up into the promising generation . Thus, the citizens of Fuzhou are composed of love-bond families.
Admittedly, it may be true that observing people at time may learn something about the society in some conditions. However, this alone does not constitute a sufficient support to claim that we can learn more about the society by observing people at work. Actually, these cases are rare and therefore are too specific and too weak to strengthen the view that we can learn more about the society by observing people at work.. When the advantages and disadvantages of observing how people spend their leisure time and how people at work are carefully examined, the most striking conclusion is obvious that we can learn more about the society by observing how people spend their leisure time.
As I mentioned above, on the one hand, how people spend their leisure time will reveal the culture of the society . On the other hand, how people spend their leisure time will reflect their social value. Therefore, we may safely arrive at the conclusion that we can learn more about the society by observing how people spend their leisure time. |
