补充一下Ivey的MBA新生录取原则:
We make a holistic assessment of each individual who applies to the Ivey MBA Program. We look at academic achievement in a three or four-year university degree, work experience, involvement in the world beyond work, ambition, focus, leadership and contribution to the learning of others.
The case study method is our primary pedagogy and is a way of active learning that involves individual thought, team collaboration, active classroom involvement, with a focus on decision-making and action. Students must be able to form an opinion, articulate a position and defend it in front of their peers and the professors. Increased learning results from this dynamic environment and a successful candidate must be committed to learning in teams. The classroom is one of the most important venues for learning. All students must pledge respect for the classroom environment.
The classroom environment is important, however, we also believe significant learning takes place outside of the classroom and we want students to be keen and curious, and to take ownership of their learning process. A good candidate will be one who has had a high level of outside activities and also a high likelihood of contributing to the program through participation in extracurricular activities that benefit the program and their learning.
While case studies are the primary pedagogy, we supplement this approach with lectures where appropriate (for example for technical topics in accounting and finance), simulations, exercises, field trips, study tours, discussions with senior executives and client field projects.
We believe that full time work experience is a critical factor for the candidates in our Program. We feel that it develops maturity, self-awareness and well-defined career goals. Work experience enables students to make significant contributions to the learning of the other members of the class through clear illustrations of theory and practice. These traits are common among successful students in our Program.
The Ivey MBA Program is an integrated learning experience. All candidates are required to take and successfully complete the full program regardless of their background. Therefore, we do not accept courses at the undergraduate or graduate level for advanced standing towards the Ivey MBA degree.
We want ethical students in our program who will also be ethical managers. Upon conditional acceptance into the program, a candidate must be familiar with Ivey's Professional Code and must pledge to adhere to the code.
