resume 一般1-2页,包括工作,教育,联系方式等重要信息. CV一般5-10页,可以把所有重要信息具体化,并且可包括附件. 所以一个CV 可把一个人各方面全部表现出来.

CV = curricular vitae.
CV is not the same thing as resume. The former tends to be lnoger and more detailed. For instance if you're applying for a teaching position in a university you must include publications, patents etc in your CV. In business settings, shorter format (i.e. resume) is more acceptable, presumly because HR folks have no time or patience to read a 5 pages CV. It's always a good idea to check with the school or company to see which one is prefered...
