这个方法好像有待商榷吧，看这个题:

The number of people flying first class on domestic flights rose sharply in 1990, doubling the increase of the previous year.

B. doubling that of the increase in

C. double as much as the increase of

D. twice as many as the increase in

E. twice as many as the increase of

这个题目的答案是A 不是B 啊！

A. land area 和great britain 比较，对象错误 where修饰population不对
B.补出的is 和前面的has不对应
C.改变句子中心本来是想说地方差不多大，人口差不少，C把人口的比较变成修饰成分，而把地域面积和人口组成并列了，意思改变了，仔细体会一下。
D， 4 million in population，这个表达不好，不准确，而且和C一样，改变句子重心
E.but后省略has,比较对象一致，而且后面非限制性定语从句补充说明人口。没毛病

"4 million in population" is OK, but "and many" is not a parallel sentence with "Laos has...".
