答案是B,但我觉得似乎D也有道理。因为new seeds的amount of insecticide slightly lower,所以如果种的地足够多的话,也可以省钱,有经济价值啊。

不是NN,个人意见
D中比较了基因修改后的玉米的种植面积与原始玉米的种植面积
但是,题目中给出的条件是比较 the amount of insecticide needed per acre,即每公顷杀虫剂用量,
因此面积的比较为无关
