最不好的地方在于平行结构-一塌糊涂， 第二个谓语莫名奇妙 重复should, 第三个 又不重复。

第一个谓语 是 SVC，第二个是SVO 第三个又回到SVC


另外，用这种古怪的 连词结构 连接 三个谓语-  and...or


Then要改成themselves

              平行结构-一塌糊涂 ；古怪的 连词结构 连接 三个谓语；莫名奇妙 重复should



(C) and contain no writing or underlining

也很awkward，不过语法上好看一点，两个 SVO结构并列，第二个省去should, 用or连接两个宾语。





(D) without containing writing nor be underlined （C）

试图用without containing修饰condition，这种表达就不对。不能说 a condition without....


nor be underlined ，nor乱用，没有否定表达的和其对应。


(E) without having any writing or no underlining in them

不分析了，完全乱来。

本题考查平行与用词法.


从结构上说,应该是should be...and be...的形式.
单纯看D选项,首先containing writing nor be underlined在nor两边不平行, 而且without...nor...也不符合idiom,至少也是without...or...才差不多.
再者D选项的be underlined被动语态不清楚施动者是谁,unclear.


这道题,
我觉得首先看A和B,have和in them逻辑含义重复, wordy.
D上面分析了.
看E,without和no否定加否定变肯定了, having与in them重复.再者,without...不是修饰condition,而应该修饰Textbooks.这里就又unclear了.

谢谢上面各位，我有个问题是，复习前期，只要掌握了并列，平行结构，可以轻易解开此题，但随着复习的深入，很多难题并不能简单的用平行结构解决，而必须掌握逻辑意思，才能知道什么和什么平行。

比如下面这题：

OG - 210. Scientists have recently discovered what could be the largest and oldest living organism on Earth, a giant fungus that is an interwoven filigree of mushrooms and rootlike tentacles spawned by a single fertilized spore some 10,000 years ago and extending for more than 30 acres in the soil of a Michigan forest.
(A) extending
(B) extends
(C) extended
(D) it extended
(E) is extending

这题，如果不经逻辑判断，只用语法结构去判断的话，肯定会选 (C).但正确答案是 (A)

这样语法就变得不是排除答案的第一要素了。但如果每题都以逻辑为先，反而有些简单的题却做不对，特别是在句意不是很确定的情况下。因为陷阱遇多了之后，心里就会想，这题真的是那么简单吗？

请问NN是我应该在哪一方面下多点功夫呢。

偶不是nn，想说下复习sc以来对于平行结构的理解。
自从接触sc，做了好几百题目，感触最深的就是，在绝对平行中寻找相对平行。我把考察平行结构的题目分成几个层次：
一是结构一致的绝对平行。比如“both...and...”，“not only... but also，either...or...”等等，基本上，不用深究句子的逻辑含义，直接通过考察前后对应的部分是否一致就可以马上选出答案。
二是相对的绝对平行。比如“分词1，分词2，and分词3”，或者“名词1，名词2，and名词3”，或者“介词短语1，介词短语2，and介词短语3”。这其中，分词可以是ing，也可以是ed，不是说只有ing和ing才叫平行。“介词with+n，of+n，and for+n”的结构，一样是完美平行的一种体现。在这样的结构中，逻辑含义的判定显得十分重要，比如楼上举的例子，比如“the cleaning of... and the removal（而不用removing） of...”，还有著名的increased pressure和the increasing pressure的取舍。但是，不能说“because of... and because...”，目前为止还没看到这样的结构被判定正确。
三是相对平行。典型的例子就是类似as...as...的比较结构，是否补出动词，要看句子的逻辑判定。
四是不平行背后的平行，即结构有微差但句意完美平行。这个常常出现在whereas的句型中，我记得有个energy在不同国家占有比例的题目，就是典型的句意平行。
五是完美平行的陷阱。比如“he was...... and he became......”，中间会有长长一大串的插入，这里第二个he是要省略的，否则就是不够concise。上面第四点中energy的例子就有个强烈干扰的选项，看似工整对仗，但介词位置使得整个句子有歧义。还有紫皮og第27题也是如此。
