....rather to come does not complete the second part of the sentence idiomatically. 我不大理解这个意思，如果不管这个结构不好于what使用不正确这些问题的话，我看不出rather to come有什么问题。（与前面的to avoid不是平行了么）

....were fearing is the wrong tense.这个难道是指过去进行时用得不对么？
PS：顺路问一个关于And的用法，如果And前面加了comma，除了后面是加名词之外，就一定只能加clause（有完整Subject+Verb)了么？
