关于答案A和选项E我不太了解。

E. It is expected that heating oil price will rise higher this year than last year’s because refines pay about $5 a barrel more for crude oil than they did
主要是关于than的比较的问题，前边要比较的对象是price，为什么than后面用last或是last year就对了呢，last year’s 才是指代price啊

想问一下那个are用的对吗，答案上是is，理由是前面subject是flow pattern

1.可以理解为this year 和last year的比较。且last year's 这种所有格形式不正式；

谢谢，关于第二题是我没说清楚，后面是waves为什不不用are呢

显然用is，就是因为主语是pattern。在gmat语法中，“；”连接两个主谓完整的句子，所以分号以后的主语是pattern，不是The peaks，而且谓语是跟主语一致，不是跟宾语一致。而且在这里“standing waves“ 只是名称而已.
