并列难点心得

1  若从语法上无法判断是与主句并列还是从句并列，则可从逻辑关系出发，迅速得出结论

example

A fire in an enclosed space burns with the aid of reflected radiation that preheats the fuel, making ignition much easier and (flames spreading)  more quickly

A>
B> flame spreads
C> flames are caused to spread
D> causing flames to spread
E> causing spreading of the flames

从以上五个选项，我们可以迅速判断，答案在 A 和D 之间（因为从语法上来说没有任何错误），这里，flame 到底是 make 的宾语那，还是另外一个动作那？

我们知道，无风不起浪，无ignition 也无 flame, 因此我们可以迅速判断，flame 不可能与 make 并列，而只能是make 的下一个结果，所以 D就选出来了

2 还可以从句子的意思出发

example 1

Many investors base their choices ( between bonds and stocks on comparing bond yields to ) the dividends available on common stocks

A>
C> between bonds and stocks on comparisons of bond yields with
E> between bonds and stocks on comparing  bond yields with

扎一看，我们可能选E，但是 further reflection reveals it deserve our attention.
Base…on… on 后面的肯定是一个结果，而comparing 是一个过程，显然不能满足其条件，所以只能用comparisons..
