| Co-operative Program with HEC
Objectives
As economies continue to evolve into one large market, managers must plan and operate their business from a global perspective. The imperative for management education is to train leaders who thrive in this environment and contribute to their success.
This co-operative degree program aims to provide a solid business training in a highly international environment by building on each institution's excellence in management education and by blending the richness and variety of Europe and Asia. Students who fulfill the requirements of both institutions will be awarded two MBA degrees, one from each institution.
The HEC School of Management, a Grande Ecole, was established in 1881, and is considered one of Europe's leading business schools. The MBA program was created in 1969 and consistently ranks among Europe's finest. Accredited by AMBA, EQUIS and the AACSB, the HEC MBA Program provides a solid generalist business education in a highly cooperative but competitive, multicultural learning environment to individuals exhibiting exceptional management potential. The HEC alumni association counts over 23,000 members in more than 50 countries, where graduates occupy leadership positions in the world's largest and most influential companies. The intensive full-time program is rigorous. But participants take full advantage of the 250-acre campus and its wide range of facilities to ensure an important balance between work and play, forging lasting personal and professional networks.
International Student Exchange Programme
Students participating in this programme gain valuable knowledge about the host country, as well as cross-cultural communication skills. They become aware of cultural differences between themselves and other societies, and learn to value, accept, and adapt to these differences. Living in another country helps to develop the qualities of flexibility and resourcefulness, which in turn help to prepare participants for transnational careers.
Seventeen leading universities in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia are partners with the MBA Programmes in the student exchange programme. Each year, for a whole term, more than twenty students attend the partner universities, and the MBA Programmes host exchange students from those universities.
Participating students receive credits for the courses taken and receive their degrees from their own universities. Fees and tuition are paid to their own universities.
Awards from the business community are available for students who are eligible for the programme. These awards help students with travel and other expenses. The MBA Programmes also offer interest-free loans to qualified and needy students.
Exchange students from participating universities are given assistance in obtaining housing accommodation, either on or off campus. Students are responsible for their own room and board expenses, as well as travel and transportation expenses. The MBA Student Association organizes activities to promote interaction with the exchange students, and cultural and study programmes in China and the Asia-Pacific region. Exchange students are also invited to join the activities that are organized by the Office of the International Asian Studies Programme.
