as ...as是比较前后两样事物的。D翻译出来就是鲸鱼长得像30英尺长。鲸鱼怎么会像30英尺

一点想法：
as big as 30 feet long-->WORDY
X is as big as 30 feet-->BETTER
X is 30 feet long-->BETTER
as big as和long都是表示尺寸大小，同样的意思，没有必要同时用，用一个就行了

X is as big as Y. X和Y都是名词时有可比性。如：
The apple is as big as the orange. -->CORRECT(As Serena0710 mentioned)
The apple is as big as the size of the orange.-->INCORRECT
A is as tall as B.-->CORRECT
A is as tall as the height of B.-->INCORRECT

此帖子貌似没讨论出个什么，鄙人拙见，as big as是修饰面积等量词，但这里的as big as 30feet long，不仅句意有歧义：和30feet的长度一样大（大概这个意思），不管是从中文还是英文都讲不通。
再说把big改成long那必定是wordy。
