Write Coherent and Relevant Essays
We are already convinced that plagiarizing is a bad idea. We are going to steer clear of decorating our essays with the help of a thesaurus. But what about the actual content of the essay? Ultimately, it is the thought conveyed through words that counts.
Here is an example to better explain what I am saying: Imagine two strong business school hopefuls - let us call them Tom and Jerry. They are both really good essay writers. But they are different people. Tom is the hard working visionary while Jerry is the creative entrepreneurial kind (Hey! Get that image of the cartoon cat and mouse out of your head; they would never apply to business school J ).
Now what would happen if accidentally one of several essays got swapped between their application packets? Note that both the essays are good essays. But they are good only in light of all the other stuff; including the other essays; in the application packet. It is very likely that both Tom and Jerry would score quite poorly because of this swap.
It is not just the intrinsic quality of an essay that is important. It is also how well that essay and everything else in your application gels together.
So, what does this mean to you?
Make sure that there is one strong underlying message in all of your essays.
Evaluate all essays for a school together, not stand alone.
Do not use essay writing services to do your dirty work (editing services are ok). They do not know you well enough. And whatever they say, your essay will be strongly influenced by the essays they wrote earlier.
So go ahead and write that set of award winning essays.
