For part (2), is there a typo there? 105 is not a prime number, so it shouldn't be a prime factor. Anyway, it looks to me like the answer is
(a) (1) alone is sufficient, but (2) alone is not sufficient. If p/q = 7/5, then there is an integer, n, say, such that p = 7n and q = 5n. Even though (2) seems to me to have a typo, just because p & q both have the same factor, we have no idea how many factors either of them have in total. |
