Ross Round 2 Interview Invite Details
In the delightfully transparent manner Ross School of Business Managing Director of Full-Time MBA Admissions and Program Soojin Kwon is known for, she took to her MBA Admissions Blog today to provide some insight into what those of you who submitted Round 2 applications should expect in terms of next steps.
Round 2 is Ross’s biggest round, Kwon notes, so to give all applications a proper review, interview invitations will go out in two waves. “The first group of invitations will be sent later this week,” she wrote. “The second (and final) batch will go out by the end of January.” She stressed that whether you get an invite in the first or second round should not be interpreted as an indicator of the strength of your application.
Though it is not required, Ross does invite applicants who so choose to take part in its unique team exercise. Round 2 team exercises will be held in four locations this year:
Ann Arbor (Feb 2nd through 19th; see below for details)
Sao Paulo (Jan 27th)
Tokyo (Feb 3rd)
Shanghai (Feb 6th)
If you’re invited to interview and wish to take part, you can choose any of the above locations. “Participation is optional,” Kwon added, “and a great way to give our team another data point about you.”
Check out Kwon’s video on the team exercise to really get a feel for what it’s like.
On-campus interviews will start Friday, February 2nd, and run most Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays through February 19th. Kwon warns that on-campus availability is limited and does fill up quickly—so start thinking now about what you might be able to do in February, she encourages. Off-campus interviews can be completed between January 19th and February 18th, and all interviews—whether on or off campus—are valued equally.
