Notification of Decisions Our decisions will be communicated online (through your ApplyYourself account) after 5 p.m. EST on January 28, 2008, to candidates who submitted their completed application by the October 30, 2007, deadline. Because we give each application full and thorough consideration, we ask that you give us until the early evening of January 28, 2008, to review and, if necessary, to change our decisions. Please send an email to adcom@sloan.mit.edu if you anticipate any changes in your email address. If you decide to attend another school before we release our decision, we would appreciate hearing from you so that your place can be offered to another candidate. An invitation to interview indicates that your application has reached an advanced stage of consideration, but does not guarantee admission. Candidates will be notified of interviews by email from early December 2007 until the decision deadline, January 28, 2008; in the latter case, candidates will be notified of their final decision after the January 28, 2008, deadline. Interviews will be conducted at MIT Sloan and in several key regions around the globe in December 2007 and January 2008; candidates residing in some regions will be interviewed by telephone. Iinterviews are conducted on weekdays and during business hours only. Please note that regular classes are not in session during final exam week in early December 2007 and during Independent Activities Period (IAP) from January 7 to February 4, 2008. In lieu of attending classes during your interview visit, you may take advantage of our lunch program hosted by one or several of our MIT Sloan MBA students. If you wish to attend lunch with a student (or students) and other fellow interviewees, please let one of our admissions representatives know when you schedule your interview. Those of you who are invited to interview in another city may request to be interviewed in Cambridge if you wish. Out of respect for the interviewer's privacy and personal safety, we would appreciate it if you would not disclose the location of our off-campus interviews and the identity of interviewers to persons whom you do not know. Our Interview Preparation Guide is available for your reading on the MIT Sloan website (you will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader to view this file). Official Transcript You should already be in possession of an original or official copy of your transcript. When you are invited to interview, please be prepared to hand to your interviewer a copy of your transcript in a sealed envelope. Add mit.edu to Safe List To ensure that our email is not blocked or filtered to your SPAM folder, add the domain name "mit.edu" to your Safe List. Financial Aid If you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and plan to apply for a federal loan, we urge you to file the FAFSA form as soon as you are able. The form is available on the web (http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/) and our FAFSA institution code is 002178. MIT has a "need blind" admissions policy, so your application is considered without regard to your need for financial aid. Although relevant MIT loan forms will be available to you at the time of admission, you should not wait until then to submit your FAFSA form. MBA/MPA Dual-Degree Applicants Please note that KSG '09 students who applied in Round 1 will be notified of our decision on April 7, 2008. Feedback Unfortunately we cannot provide feedback to candidates we could not admit. Unsuccessful applicants who wish to reapply for a future year are advised to keep a printed copy of their online application. Class Deposit Admitted candidates are required to confirm their intent to matriculate by paying a $3,000 deposit by March 14, 2008. This deposit will be credited to your first-semester tuition when you matriculate. Should you change your mind and decide not to matriculate at MIT Sloan, we will refund $1,500 of your deposit if you notify us of your decision by August 1, 2008. A Final Word Admitted candidates should plan to leave their jobs and conclude any pending projects before August 1, 2008. You will be required to check in with the Student Affairs Office in person by Friday, August 22, 2008, to confirm your matriculation status. Orientation (August 25-29) is mandatory for all incoming MBA students and you must attend all planned activities during the Orientation period. Finally, due to Homeland Security policies, international students on a visa from MIT can enter the United States on or after August 2, 2008.
