GWD上给的答案是D，我选的是B

D选项中可以看出来examine和decide平行，但是using the set of objective criteria derived from these analyse用现在分词形式修饰后面的decide的逻辑主语是 executives吗？我怎么感觉D选项很别扭呢？而且不会出现夹心修饰吗？大家 有没有觉得很奇怪，谁能帮我分析一下D选 项。谢谢了

说下自己的看法~
B中的they指代不如D清晰，因为前面的复数n有executives和conditions两个，而且in doing表示目的不是正确的习惯用法（一般用 to do表示）
D是that后面从句中examine和decide的平行，using修饰从句中的主语executives，using加入的位置后面只剩下谓语和宾语，不会夹心修饰的

谢谢，解释的很详细，那么一般什么情况下才会出现所谓的夹心修饰？这题我感觉中间的using既可以向前修饰前面的examine又可以向后修饰decide。同时，我感觉they应该不会出现歧义吧，毕竟conditions不能use

如果单从逻辑含义上看，几乎可以排除GMAT里所有的代词指代错误。they在这里的问题不是指代歧义，而是指代不清，当然从逻辑含义上能判断是在指代executives，但是GMAC认为清晰的句子应该是一眼就明了指代对象的（当然也存在例外，正如manhattan上的一句话，选的不是对的，而是最好的）。在这里不存在任何指代ambiguity的D更好一些。
另外我觉得（不确定），现在分词的修饰结构一般是修饰名词结构，在这里是修饰executives而非动词examine和decide。
夹心修饰就如同你所说的，当前后都出现可以被修饰成分修饰的结构时造成的一种ambiguity，具体题目还真……想不起来……

现在分词作状语表达的是与主句主语有逻辑上的主谓关系，但具体修饰 应该

这种情况下现在分词有三个可能的修饰对象：
1.前面整个句子
2.临近名词
3.所在句子的主语
具体修饰对象则需要通过逻辑含义判断，个人仍然认为在这里using所修饰的是

executives，分词修饰谓语的确没有听说过。
