Applicants must meet the following criteria and submit the following materials to apply to the Yale School of Management. Application Form
Applicants must complete the application form, which is available online. All instructions for completing the application are contained in the application itself.
The Yale School of Management is a member of The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, the mission of which is to enhance diversity in business education and leadership by helping to reduce the serious underrepresentation of African Americans, Hispanic Americans and Native Americans in both its member schools' enrollments and the ranks of management. The application fee is $225 and can be paid online by Master Card, Visa, or American Express. You will be prompted to pay the fee after submitting your completed online application. If you are a current or former member of Teach for America, the Peace Corps, or the U.S. military, emailmba.admissions@yale.edu regarding the application fee before submitting your application.Academic Record
A four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. institution or the international equivalent is required to apply to the Yale School of Management. International applicants with a three-year degree from an accredited institution are eligible to apply.
When you apply, you are required to provide a transcript and a corresponding degree certification from every college or university you have ever attended. You do not need to submit the official, paper transcripts or corresponding degree certifications to apply. If admitted, however, you will need to submit official transcripts and degree certifications to enroll. The degree certificate must indicate the type of degree conferred, the institution/location from which you received the degree and the date of degree confirmation. Please note that if your transcript indicates this information, there is no need to provide us with an additional degree certificate. All offers of admission are conditional on the receipt and verification of official transcripts.
Non-English transcripts should be translated into English. If your institution does not provide an English translation with the transcript, please obtain a notarized English translation.GMAT/GRE
All applicants to the Yale School of Management must take either the GMAT or the GRE. There is no minimum score to apply. Have your official score report sent directly to the Yale School of Management. You can request GMAT score reports through www.mba.com (use code 3TJ-BX-45). You can request GRE scores through www.ets.org (use code 3986).
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic), or International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
You must submit a TOEFL, PTE Academic, or IELTS score if English is not the primary language of instruction at your degree-granting undergraduate or graduate institution. If English was the primary language of instruction at either institution, you do not need to submit a TOEFL, PTE Academic, or IELTS score or request a waiver of this requirement.
Although there are no minimum TOEFL, PTE Academic, and IELTS scores to apply, to be competitive, an applicant should have a TOEFL score of at least 100 on the Internet-based test, a PTE Academic score of at least 70, or an IELTS score of at least 7.
Have your official score report sent directly to the Yale School of Management. You can request TOEFL score reports through www.toefl.org (use the code 3986), PTE Academic scores through www.pearsonpte.com (no code required), and IELTS score reports through www.ielts.org (no code required).Recommendations
You are required to submit two professional recommendations. Ideally, at least one of the recommenders should be in a position to assess your performance at your most recent job. Recommendation forms can be emailed to recommenders from the online application.
College seniors applying to the Yale School of Management are automatically considered for the Silver Scholars
Program. For such applicants, one recommendation should be from an academic instructor and one should be from an employer.
