Two confusing choices: 1. it is eastimated that
                       2. while there are estimated  ( my choice)

一道数学。
A sum of money that includes two kinds of coins, 0.25 and 0.05 face value. The total maney is 2.9 dollars. Ask if the number of 0.05 coins is divided by 5, what is the remaining value of money.

choices 4  3  2  1  0   ( i did not figure it out yesterday )


Any one who get a sharp mind and great insight in gmat please help me to crack the two questions, thanks!

If the question is there are how many 0.05 coins left. Then:
0.25t+0.05y=2.9 => 5t + y=58
T is the multiple of 5, then t=5 or 10,then y=33 or 8 , still cannot find the answer.

0.25t+0.05y=2.9 => 5t + y=58
the meaning of the question is that 't' is the multiple of 5, then t=0,5,10,or15. If t=10,y=8, and if y=3, then t=11, not the multiple of 5.
I donot know who is right.

the total value of money =2.9

how can the remaining value of money =3?

这题越看越糊涂.问的是remaining value of money.答案怎么可能是4 3 2 1 0 呢?
如果"the digit of 5t must be 0 or 5, consequently that of y must be 8 or 3",那
remaining value of money就是: 8*0.05 OR 33*0.05, 没答案呀?
这题到底问什么呀? 请教DX.

the digit of 5t must be 0 or 5, consequently that of y must be 8 or 3.
According to the choices 4 3 2 1 0 , we can confirm that the answer is 3

0.25*5t+0.05y=2.9=> 25t+y=58
as t =2 y=8
0.05*8=0.4
none of the alternative choice ....??
