Hi Guys, I am posting my Stern Interview experience as requested. Sorry for the delay since i was too excited. Yes. The interview was really laid-back although it was with the admission officer. I was the only one Chinese (mainland Chinese) in the three groups (15 girls per group). I happened to be the first one to be interviewed. Believe or not, I did not know how i made it because i was too excited to get any sleep the night before. My Interviewer is Katie Volz from career development office. The questions: 1. Tell me about yourself? ( I stated my career plan and reason for MBA here) 2. Why Stern? ( I emphasized I love Stern & NYC , I felt I belongs to here from my heart) 3. Give me something you think you need to improve yourself (example)? 4. Going to details about my career goal? (Example) 5. What kind position & which company do you want in your summer internship? 6. Why do you want to concentrate on Marketing & Strategic Mgt with your finance background? (Here I emphasized my uniqueness & differentiation)? 7. What is your back up plan if you could not find a summer internship in the company you want? ( actually she did not ask me directly, but I used an opportunity to put in & let her felt I was fully thought about myself, my future plan , etc ). I guess these are all the questions I can remember. The questions I asked her: 1. How was the international students’s placement in summer internship & graduation job compare to the domestic students? 2. What are the criteria for being rewarded Scholarship & Fellowship? 3. Is there any summer internship opportunity in Asia? (HK or China) Actually I did not finish my questions yet because the interview is only 30 mins for each applicant. We have to end our conversation. Also, I asked her if I can attend Asian Business Society Party on Friday night (that was a tip I got from a current second students I met in Toronto). To Sum it up, I think they are not trying to trick you out. They just want to know you in person. So show you passionate to the school, to your future. Be yourself! Fit in & Stand out!
