An Enhanced, Global Curriculum For students beginning in the full-time program in fall 2006 and beyond, Thunderbird’s already-intensive global course requirements will be strengthened. Students will be required to complete:
- The Thunderbird Global Experience: A two-week course delivered in an international location.
- Global Enterprise: A preparatory course that focuses on intra-entrepreneurship, innovation and global citizenship.
- Global Business Plan/Integrative Experience: A project that helps students develop viable global business plans. Or, for students not interested in a business plan, they may complete a capstone course that integrates the functional areas of business.
- Non-credit courses in leadership development: Required Global Professional Development Courses that allow students to focus on building communication, teamwork, interpersonal and cross-cultural skills.
Global marketing and management, international development, and global finance, continue to be core specializations within Thunderbird's curriculum. A minimum level of language proficiency is also required for all students as a graduation exit requirement of the MBA program. Many students will have already achieved the required standard upon application; some may enroll in Thunderbird Intensive Language Programs the trimester preceding the MBA program; others may gain proficiency through off-site or third-party language programs; some may meet the standard during the Thunderbird program through non-credit business language courses; and others may take up to six credits of Thunderbird "business language" courses in lieu of electives, if they wish.
As we prepare for our fall 2006 entering class, we hope you’ll consider your place among our diverse student body. Visit us to get a first-hand perspective of what it’s like to fit into a truly global environment. Or feel free to apply now to ensure your spot.
