请教MSC(master of scinece) 和 MA (master of art) 的区别

我从网上摘下来的：
Applicants for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy or Doctoral Programme should normally have either:

1) a higher degree by examination (MA, MPhil, BPhil etc) from a university in the British Isles, or

2) the equivalent qualification from a university outside the British Isles.

请问第一条里为什么有MA，没有MSC阿？

如果没记错，在东方上课的时候，杨鹏好像说，MSc是为那些理工背景的人准备的二次MBA。有些人钱多没地方花啦，读完MBA没东西读就去读MSc啊，什么master of science的。
言外之意就是为理工科背景的人增加点管理知识吧，可能，也许，maybe就是这样吧。
MA的话，应该是文科的master吧，应该包括管理的。

不知道有没有说错话。
