新东方老版本里面的几个题目探讨。

其他几个选项一眼就可以排除，然后我选的B，结果后来我发现答案是C。但我觉得C太累赘了啊。大家觉得呢？

At the beginning of the year, the city allocated  $150 million to cover the (increases in wages that it expected to approve as a result  of negotiations) with the municipal labor unions.

E．increases expected to be approved in wages from negotiating
答案是A，但我选的E。因为我觉得E的意思也没有错，而且E比A 更加简洁。大家觉得呢？

答案是B，但我觉得C更加简洁。

答案是D， 但我觉得E中用过去完成时态更加好一点。

第一题 after 后面的when 是多余的
2.E increases expected to be approved in wages from negotiating改变了原意
    要approve的是$150 million，不是increases; 把in wages和increases分开，造成歧义，变成在“工资里批准”；from的用的也不对
  A it 指city，city批准,city谈判。表达得更clearly

4.我觉得还是过去时好 过去完成一定是发生在过去某个时间以前的的动作
  这道题里有明显的时间提示some 200 years ago，才开始question(not untill,直到...才）

3.c改变了句子的意思，relation(不应该是复数)是指nation和其它nation的relation，而变成relations是nations和treaties的relation。不符合逻辑。
语法题越来越多考句意理解了，一定要看懂句子意思后再选择。

但是我还想问Louisa_xy，如果将问题4题目本身的顺序还原的话应该是
Society had not seriously questioned the right of the state that it could execute its citizens until the Enlightenment, some 200 years ago.
这怎么看都应该用过去完成时啊~~~
