[转帖]Stanford interview @BJ(08.3)

R2, got the interview invitation one week ago.

The alumni is a CXO of a famous company, so it's not hard to find his profile on the internet. On that website, his smile is just as the sunshine of California, so was he in the interview.

The interview was just like a relax conversation, though I was still nervous a bit. The questions follow as below:

1. Self introduction, and "why that school" followed up when I was talking about my undergraduate school.

2. My current job, responsibilities, how many persons in my team, who I report to. Why I chose this job.

3. How did I know about MBA. Why Stanford, what other schools I applied for.

4. Strengths and weakness, how I deal with my shortcomings.

5. Detailed questions about the projects I presented on the resume. Why I could get so much opportunities to take leading positions though my few experience.

6. My aspirations, how can I make it happen.

7. Question about him. We talked a lot about his experience as an entrepreneur and he gave me some advice on my future career.

So many following-up questions that my English collapsed! I should have prepared better for the details of each of my statements on resume.

This alumni is quite smart and nice, giving me the most convenient interiview. At last, he commented that I'm "different". But I don't know what's that word means while he's writing report to Stanford.

Though previous experiences described Stanford interview as "time stricted", we spent about a hour to finish it, since I'm interested in his career progress and thus asked lots of questions.

In addition, he didn't take any notes while we were talking. So I guess Stanford would like to gain some general impression about applicants from alumni interivewer, or my interivewer has an amazing memory.

There's one week left for sending out decisions. Wish the information above be helpful for followers, and wish I can provide more helpful info from Stanford GSB one year later.
