个人的一个小问题，关于B中OG解释中说for helping is awkward，不太理解是为什么？求解释

B若要正确，则应该为 thank her for helping THEM ACHIEVE THAT GOAL. 但比较于 thank her for such help，B则更为拖沓，所以不好。

另外前面的 aid to thank也不好，因为后面加TO DO就把前面的AID变成了动词。AID作为名词后面加 IN

自己查了一下灵格斯中的牛津和朗文，help作动词的时候可以做及物动词和非及物动词，但是给出的例句中多是help （sb） （to ）do/with等等的结构，真没有见到错误选项中把不及物的help作为动名词使用的，给出的例子中放在介词后面的基本都是help的名词形式，所以可不可以认为是一种用语习惯？

我觉得可能是for是个介词，后面跟名词性成分，既然help本身就可以做名词，把help的动词改为动名词还多了一步，何必多此一举呢？
