B选项when they do appear更像是做状语，修饰整个句子，而E选项when they do appear才修饰了mininterpret，我困惑的是怎样判断到底是作状语修饰整个句子，还是修饰misinterpret呢，有什么根据吗？语法基础不好，求大家指点，最好能讲的详细些，拜托拜托

OG没说B选项的when they do appear更像是状语吧。。。明明是说when they do appear的位置misplaced了。这一题的解题关键，或者说每一个GMAT语法题的解题关键就是尽可能少的出现歧义，带着这样的精神，你就会主动避开多出现的代词，就会主动希望修饰词和被修饰对象距离要靠近。
这一题的B选项中，当especially后面的one出现的时候，前一句已经出现了两个名词，executive和course of action。one就出现了指代歧义；再来，当misinterpreting后面的ones出现的时候，这个ones从语法上应该优先指代missing signs，可实际逻辑上，ones是指代signs而非missing signs，这样一来when they do appear的they可能指代signs，也可能指代missing signs，虽然后者根本不应该出现。另一个原因就是OG说的，B选项的逻辑关系错误。是executive的strategy而不是他自己容易造成miss或者misinterpret。
再来看E选项...我以上说的歧义全部被消除，多完美的答案啊。。。

你说的方法确实不错的，值得仔细研究，但是我真的很想知道为什么B想中的when放错了位置，而E项中的when是正确的，原谅我钻牛角尖啊，谢啦

五个选项中，只有B把likely放在了when的前面，是【make sth】【likely when】还是【make sth likely】【when】有歧义啊。
