TECHNOLOGY

Technology improvements in the last three academic years: All Stern classrooms are SmartClassrooms. Classes are recorded, with a video link available within 24 hours, and students can access course-related software online from any location. Coursepacks are available on iPhone/iTouch/iPad with annotation and bookmarking capabilities. Collaboration spaces feature flat-screen monitors and students have access to videoconferencing systems. Alumni have an online community and keep their Stern email address for life. Stern supports both Windows and Apple

Loved NYU! I feel my education was worth more than what I spent. My fellow students came from such diverse backgrounds, were intelligent and had great personalities! Professors were approachable, very strong in their fields and inspired me. The operations of the program were very smooth; I realize what they do to keep the program going day to day must be very labor intensive but they made it seem easy. Also loved all the online resources and systems. The IT group must be great!



The flexibility of the Stern schedule allowed me to give my best at work and in the classroom. Stern's high grading standard pushed me to excel and allowed me to take my career in the direction I wanted to. I was able to achieve what I wanted to when I joined the program.

NYU had excellent coursework with talented students from diverse backgrounds that made learning a pleasure. I felt that my MBA at NYU gave me a solid base understanding of business fundamentals as well as applicable, current perspectives in specific areas that interest me.



Most instructors are icons in their areas of expertise, some professionally and some academically. Some are removed from the real-world experience, but only a small minority. Essentially all the instructors were excellent communicators and passionate about their subjects.

I think the career center for working professionals should be open after normal business hours. It made no sense for an office dedicated to working professionals to be open while those professionals were at their jobs. It was very difficult to schedule in-person meetings with this office.



It's cliché, but it's the truth: Stern's location places it in the epicenter of business. I still cannot figure out why people attend programs in the hinterlands. Perhaps for the beer, booze and themed parties with $.50/beers. Not at Stern.



There were several guest speakers, social networking events such as happy hours, team building experiences including weekend camping outings, and weekly get-togethers on campus.

Some of the professors for core classes (stats, etc.) were not the best. Maybe this is a feature of the part-time program. Economics and finance professors are excellent. Marketing professors are a mixed bag.



The faculty and staff were the leaders in their fields. Great communication and teaching skills. I come from an IT background, and planned to switch careers into finance. By the time I graduated, I feel very comfortable and confident in the finance industry. NYU is a great school with absolutely amazing faculty, staff, resources and networking opportunities.



The career services could have been greatly improved. The part-time student career services were subpar relative to the services provided to the full-time students. Moreover, part-time students were not allowed to have any access to services available for full-time students, unless you went through a lengthy orientation process which was offered only a few times. Given the economic climate, the school could have done more to help part-time students that found themselves in the unfortunate situation of being jobless.
