The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology’s School of Business and Management (HKUST Business School) today announced that its full-time MBA program has been ranked by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), for a second year, as No. 1 in Asia and Australia.

EIU’s ranking criteria include four main areas, namely, “open new career opportunities”, “personal development and educational experience”, “increase salary” and “potential to network”. The HKUST MBA program ranks No. 3 in the world in “personal development and educational experience” which is measured by faculty quality, student quality, student diversity and education experience. It is also placed at No. 10 in the “open new career opportunities” category.
Leonard Cheng, Acting Dean of the HKUST Business School, said, “The EIU rankings measure value creation delivered by an MBA program for its participants. This is an area that our program puts a lot of focus on. With our current level of student diversity, the HKUST MBA will continue to promote international talent mobility by attracting students from around the world, and thereby contribute to the overall human capital development for businesses in the region.”
Steven DeKrey, Director of MBA Program, said, “We have been and will continue to innovate and implement new initiatives in our program to enrich students’ learning experiences. In addition to our well established international exchange program we have in recent years added a professional team to look after students’ personal and career development. Our objectives are to assist our students to renew, improve and develop themselves with their MBA experience. I am glad the EIU results are consistent with our priorities.” Positions of Schools in Asia and Australia on EIU’s 2007 List of Top 100 Full-time MBA Programs | School | | Location | | Overall position | 1. | HKUST | | Hong Kong | | 20 | 2. | University of Hong Kong | | Hong Kong | | 37 | 3. | Monash University | | Australia | | 43 | 4. | Nanyang Technological University | | Singapore | | 72 | 5. | International University of Japan | | Japan | | 77 | 6. | Curtin University | | Australia | | 80 | 7. | Macquarie Graduate School of Management | | Australia | | 84 | 8. | CEIBS | | China | | 90 | 9. | The Chinese University of Hong Kong | | Hong Kong | | 91 | 10. | Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad | | India | | 92 | 11. | National University of Singapore | | Singapore | | 94 |
