When you say someone is fit for the position, you can list a lot of advantages of this person to support your conclusion:

like the support this person can get from some important group;

his good relations with some group;

or many others.

But what finally dertermining is something just about this guy, his understanding, thought, personality traits. All other qualifications are exterior and not to the point!

Sure there is some problem about the use of the word only, however E is the best answer.
