GPA question for Berkerly and UCLA

I heard that these two schools are not flexible with undergraduate GPA. My undergraduate GPA are very low, around 2.5. I got my Master in US. My graduate GPA is 3.6. My major is engineering, a lot of guys in these major have low GPAs in China. I am wondering If I should apply for these two schools. I don't want to waste my money.Does anybody give me an advice? Thanks

for Berkeley, I think the average is above 3.0. good news is that you

are applying for B-school not a law school. so you can always explain why

your GPA is so low. Good essay should help a great deal.

recently, there is a news article talking about the low GPA in UCLA

engineering department. I guess low GPA in engineering department is also

true in USA

some people said both these two school are not flexible with GPA, is

there anybady know the situation.

no worry... confirmed from the admission staff that if you have a much

better GPA in your graduate school, they will just disgard your undergraduate

GPA, because the graduate one is more recently, and thus a better reflection

of your current academic ability.

Although Anderson's 1st year students' average GPA is 3.5, you won't have a big problem if you have been working for several years and your GMAT is high, and additionally your graduate GPA already looks pretty good!

as far as i know, the engineer deparment in Berkerly adopts a grading

system called  BELL  curve.  u  guys  should  know how a bell looks like.

that means no matter how hard you try. the professor only takes 5% of the

class students as A, 20% as B, 60%-70% as C, and the rest is D. that is why

Berkerly's engineering department is so famours in U.S.. if you are a student

there(engineering), you can easily get a 70k/year job offer at ur senior

years even ur gpa is under 3.0(>2.2).
