[求助]issue练习一篇,盼高人指点一二

Issue 21
The issue of whether job security and salary should be based on employee performance instead of years of service arouses much controversy among people with different perspectives and backgrounds. Therefore, there is no universal answer to this question, and whether one opinion takes precedence over the other depends on specific circumstances. As far as I am concerned, I agree that employees with outstanding work performance should be rewarded with an increasing salary and job security; and at the same time tenured employees who perform satisfactorily should also be given a regular, though small, service-based pay increase. My view will be strongly supported by the following analysis.

In the first place, the very important reason to support my viewpoint is that served as incentives job security and salary can highly enhance employees’ work performance which in turn will boost productivity. Employees with highly satisfactory performance should be given an increasing salary and a guaranteed job security as rewards. Only in this way can they get a real sense of recognition as well as job-related satisfaction. Indeed, these two positive feeling toward one’s work will naturally lead to a greater enthusiasm towards work which will in return benefit the company by way of boosting productivity to a higher level.

In the second place, another reason that can be presented to develop my position is that tenured employees who perform satisfactorily should also be given a regular, though small, service-based pay increase. The reason for this argument is not very far to seek. In order to promote as well as maintain employees’ loyalty and a positive attitude toward the company, tenured employees with satisfying work performance should be given a reasonable amount of increases in salary. This increase, though small in amount, demonstrates the company’s care and consideration. Besides, a regular increase in salary also helps to strengthen employees’ loyalty which may be beneficial to the maintenance of a low turnover.

Admittedly, it may be true that in some exceptional cases years of service takes precedence over job performance in assessing employees’ contribution to the company. However, this alone does not constitute a sufficient support to the claim that employees should be evaluated on a years-of-service basis.

To sum up, I advocate the idea that employees with outstanding work performance should be rewarded with an increasing salary and job security; and at the same time tenured employees who perform satisfactorily should also be given a regular, though small, service-based pay increase; because doing so will not only benefit employees but also the company in terms of enhancing employees’ morale and loyalty, inducing better work performance and ultimately thrusting the productivity. Thus, due to the aforementioned reasons, we can safely arrive at the conclusion I support.
