There's no program in Southern California that comes close to this. On a national scale, I don't think any universities have paid the type of attention to their part-time program that UCLA has. UCLA has made this program in every respect the equivalent of the most rigorous, top-10, full-time business schools. They pay as much attention to us as they do to their full-time students; the program is just as rigorous (if not more), and the career and networking services are really there for you.

The Anderson FEMBA program is like a family -- you get to know your peers, professors and administrative staff, and they are with you for three years. The support from the program is great. I have learned so much through the program and loved the various unique opportunities offered, including the Global Access Program, and intensive study abroad. I feel that only this school can offer so much variety and quality in a part-time program

The core was a little too long. I think the leadership core class could be split into two half courses -- one at the beginning of the program and one at the end. More real world (internships, externships, case competitions, etc.) class options should be available to count for units.

I believe it is the strongest program I looked at in California as far as academic rigor, real world experience with the GAP program, and quality of student peers. Most of the learning was relevant and practical. Professors were accessible and doing cutting-edge research. For example, I just took a class from a professor who was awarded for his research on game theory and the complexity of financial markets, which is completely relevant to the current dialogue about financial services industry reform.

There is very little middle ground - some [professors] are fantastic, while other instructors were miserable. I am sure that UCLA knows which is which based on the popularity of classes. One common weakness (and conversely a strength for others) is the use of outdated cases. While I recognize the learning principle may still be relevant, it has to be a touch of laziness that allows a prof to continue to use cases from 20 to 30 years ago.

The school does a great job of providing a rigorous learning environment while minimizing the administrative or time-killer aspects of school (for example, providing books and parking passes automatically rather than requiring us to track them down on campus). I love the culture at Anderson -- people are smart, friendly, helpful, respectful, and genuine. My classmates are dedicated to their education and to helping one another.

The MBA is an essential experience to start and/or run a business successfully. The UCLA Anderson MBA experience goes above and beyond that by supplying a world-class faculty, challenging academics, a diverse student body, and a real world Global Access Program. The Global Access Program especially sets UCLA Anderson apart from other top-tier MBA programs because it allows students to write business plans for technology companies from other countries spanning the globe.

From what I've read, this is lacking at most business schools, but I wish there was a little more attention/focus paid to ethical leadership.

The caliber of the faculty and staff is amazing. Additionally, Anderson really listens to their students and student leaders to try and make the MBA and FEMBA experience the best they can be for students.

Anderson offers a broad and deep course offering, providing students with both a broad management perspective and the ability to specialize in a particular field of study. The school's professors are experts in their field and are very open to students both in- and outside the classroom. The program is rigorous, as you would expect a top-tier program to be, and the school has a number of unique field study programs offering students the opportunity to apply their learning to real-world international situations. Finally, the alumni network is strong and active.

The clubs/associations were aimed at full-time students. They should better integrate both sets of students, especially since the part-time students can be a resource for full-time students.

I liked and appreciated the quality of peers and interaction with other part-time MBA students. I did not want to have a regression and back-to-college mentality in the environment, which you see in the full-time MBA.

I was very satisfied with my experience and would love to do it again. In talking with other MBAs, it seems that this program exceeds others in focus on students, sensitivity to quality of life outside the MBA experience, without losing sight of quality class delivery and challenging assignments.

The professors were always available and made it known that their doors were always open. The majority led great discussions and skillfully developed differing opinions among the class to present both sides of a topic. As far as weaknesses, I would've liked to see more of an equal mix between faculty and adjuncts. Although I must add that the few adjunct profs I did have were outstanding.

Faculty recognized the value of student input since they are the ones who experience real-time management issues. However, sometimes they spent too much time on people's individual situations.
